Terms and conditions for the Scholarships:
  1. If a student is eligible for grant of more than one scholarship, the total amount of all scholarships in such cases cannot exceed the total Tuition fee for the Semester, final decision will be taken care of by the Scholarship Committee.
  2. In case any candidate falls in Category (A-Merit Based Scholarship), (D-Scholarship on the basis of Performance in Sports) & (K-Scholarship Policy for the Students appeared for CUET UG-2026) then Committee may choose higher of the four options of Scholarship in the year of admission.
  3. In case any Girl Student is falling either in Category (A-Merit Based Scholarship), (B-Father of Education, Sardar Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal Ji ), (D-Scholarship on the basis of Performance in Sports) & (K-Scholarship Policy for the Students appeared for CUET UG-2025) and also in Category (B-S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal Ji Scholarship for Girl Students), in such case she will be eligible for Scholarship of Higher category (A) or (B) or (D) or (K) along with additional scholarship of Category (B)-S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal Father of Education, Sardar Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal Ji Scholarship for Girl Students). In such cases, the total amount of all such Scholarships cannot exceed the total Tuition Fee for the Semester and final decision of Scholarship will be done BY Committee.
  4. Scholarship Category (G-Scholarship for Children of Single Parent) and (H- Scholarship for differently abled Students) will be as per discretion of the Management based on the documents and other conditions, as applicable.
  5. The students who are eligible for the scholarship/s as per the norms specified by the University should address their application to the Registrar with relevant documents for consideration.
  6. Students completed their schooling from Open School / Part-Time will not be eligible for scholarships category (A-Merit Based Scholarship) & (K-Scholarship Policy for the Students appeared for CUET UG-2026).
  7. Scholarship awarded in subsequent years (if applicable) shall be credited in the Even Semester of programme for respective academic year.
  8. If at any stage, it is found that an applicant has concealed, suppressed, distorted any information / facts which would have rendered him / her not eligible for the admission and / or for benefit of fee / scholarship which has been awarded by the University basis initial documentation, then the admission and / or benefit of fee / scholarship will stand cancelled and all such financial support will be recovered by the University.
  9. In case of any escalation / representation / dispute / discrepancy / clarification, the decision of the Management will be final and binding.
  10. The Management reserves the right to change the Scholarship Policy as per its discretion.
Scholarship Progression:
  1. The student needs to maintain a minimum 85% attendance in every semester.
  2. The student is required to maintain the same or a higher percentage in their exams as achieved in CGCUET to remain eligible for the scholarship in the next semester. A supplementary in any semester will lead to the discontinuation of the scholarship for the following semester.
  3. The student has to maintain discipline and acceptable behaviour during the scholarship period.
  4. The student should not be involved in any illegal activity on campus or outside the campus
  5. The students who are eligible for the scholarship/s as per the norms specified by the University should address their application to the Registrar with relevant documents for consideration.
  6. A scholarship awardee student under any disciplinary action or pending disciplinary action shall result in termination and withdrawal of the award.
  7. Students need to maintain satisfactory performance in studies with no backlog. These students act as ambassadors of the college.
  8. Once you have registered for an exam, it will be valid for 15 days or till the last date to fill the exam, which means you have to take the exam in 15 days or till the last date after registration. This condition is applicable in both stages.
  9. Any scholarship awardee who discontinued the studies must repay the fee for completed semesters in complete or return the scholarship amount paid per the scholarship guidelines.
  10. The scholarship period shall be one year, renewable under satisfactory student performance.
  11. Tuition fee waiver shall be considered on a case-by-case basis for each program.

Father of Education, Sardar Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal Ji Scholarship for girl students.

Scholarship of 30% on Tuition fee is applicable for Girl students in first year of UG/PG programmes subject to the following conditions:

  • Students have scored 80% & above in X & XII Std./Diploma/ Graduation aggregate.
  • Scholarship percentage will remain the same for all categories of admission.

To continue the above scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 8.5 & Attendance of 85% and above every Sem, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.

Scholarship for Children of Defence Personnel [Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guards, Paramilitary Forces Including Capf(Ac)]:

This financial aid scheme aims to honor the sacrifices and dedication of our brave defense and CAPF personnel by ensuring their wards receive financial assistance for their education, encouraging academic success across generations.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for this financial aid, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
  • Service Status: The applicant’s parent must be a serving or retired member of the Indian Armed Forces, CAPF, or allied organizations.
  • Defense Forces: Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard.
  • Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF): Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Security Guards(NSG).
  • Additional Forces/ Organizations: Railway Protection Force (RPF), Special Frontier Force (SFF), Assam Rifles, Border Road Organization, General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF), Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Military Engineers Service (MES), Defence Security Corps (DSC), Ordnance Factory Board.
  • Gallantry Award Recipients: Acknowledge the gallantry award recipients by offering higher financial aid, as mentioned.
Nationality: The applicant must be a citizen of India.
1. Scholarship for Children of Defence personnel (Serving / Retired).

Scholarship of 10% on Tuition fee is applicable for the Children of Defence personnel in the first Semester of the UG / PG programmes.

For claiming the scholarship, student will be considered eligible ONLY if he/she is carrying a valid Certificate / document as under in original at the time of reporting for Counselling /Admission:

In case of serving Defence Personnel
  • Dependent’s card issued to the servicemen / A Certificate issued by the Unit Head / C.O. of the Servicemen
  • Aadhaar card of the Serviceman
  • Aadhaar card of the student
In case of retired Defence Personnel –
  • Discharge Certificate of the Servicemen

Scholarship for Children of Defence personnel (Martyrs Defence Personnel /Gallantry Medals Awardees).

Scholarship of 20% on Tuition fee is applicable for children of Martyrs Defence personnel in first Semester of the UG/PG programmes.

Scholarship Progression:
  1. The student needs to maintain a minimum 85% attendance in every semester.
  2. The student is required to maintain the same or a higher percentage in their exams as achieved in CGCUET to remain eligible for the scholarship in the next semester. A supplementary in any semester will lead to the discontinuation of the scholarship for the following semester.
  3. The student has to maintain discipline and acceptable behaviour during the scholarship period.
  4. The student should not be involved in any illegal activity on campus or outside the campus
  5. The students who are eligible for the scholarship/s as per the norms specified by the University should address their application to the Registrar with relevant documents for consideration.
  6. A scholarship awardee student under any disciplinary action or pending disciplinary action shall result in termination and withdrawal of the award.
  7. Students need to maintain satisfactory performance in studies with no backlog. These students act as ambassadors of the college.
  8. Once you have registered for an exam, it will be valid for 15 days or till the last date to fill the exam, which means you have to take the exam in 15 days or till the last date after registration. This condition is applicable in both stages.
  9. Any scholarship awardee who discontinued the studies must repay the fee for completed semesters in complete or return the scholarship amount paid per the scholarship guidelines.
  10. The scholarship period shall be one year, renewable under satisfactory student performance.
  11. Tuition fee waiver shall be considered on a case-by-case basis for each program.

Scholarship on the basis of performance in Sports

The scholarship amount will be awarded as per Sports Scholarship policy. The policy is published separately.

Students from second year onward will be eligible for scholarship, subject to participation in International/ National/ State /University-level sports activities, with approval from the competent authority.

Note: The scholarship will be credited in two equal installments in Odd/Even semester, as applicable, and will be verified by the Director Sports department. It will be governed by Annexure 2.

Annexure 2: Eligibility Criteria and Detailed Table For Sports Scholarship
1. International Level Participation:

All applicants who have represented India in International competitions/ sports, including Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and World University Games (including Cricket) are eligible for the award of a scholarship under this category upon submission of a participation certificate issued by:

  • Olympic Games by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
  • World Championship/ World Cup by International Sports Federations (ISF).
  • Asian Games by the Olympic Council of Asia.
  • Asian Championships by International Sports Federations (ISF).
  • South Asian Games (SAG) by the South Asian Sports Council (SASC).
  • Commonwealth Games by the Commonwealth Games Federations (CGF).
  • Paralympics Games by the International Paralympics Committee (IPC).
2. National Level Participation

All applicants who have participated in competitions/ sports at the national level, as recognized by the Sports Authority of India, are eligible for a scholarship under this category upon submission of a participation certificate issued by the Sports Authority of India.

The scholarship is applicable for those lists of games included in the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, World University Games, including cricket.

3. State Level Participation

All applicants who have participated in competitions/ sports at the state level, as recognized by the Sports Authority of the state, such as North Zone Inter-University Games, Senior State, Junior State, or School State Games, are eligible for a scholarship under this category upon the submission of a participation certificate issued by the Sports Authority of the state/ Sports Statutory Regulatory Bodies.

The scholarship is applicable for those games included in the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and World University Games, including cricket.

Process To Apply

Applicants are required to upload a scan copy of the original certificate of participation in the allotted ERP portal. All applicants must bring the original certificates for verification at the time of admission.

In case, a candidate fails to produce the required certificate as per the level of participation, he/she will not be considered for the scholarship.

Once the documentation verification process is completed and approved by the committee, a list of candidates will be prepared and displayed on the official website of CGC University, Mohali. The information will also be shared with the applicant by the committee.

Terms and Conditions
  • Only performance certificates from the last two years will be considered.
  • Only certificates affiliated with the Indian Olympic Association will be considered for this policy.
  • Total fee concession excludes uniform fees, examination fees, security fees, CGC University, Mohali fest fees, fresher party fees, e
  • Evaluation trials will be conducted every 45 days.
  • For team games, only those games that already have a team at CGC University, Mohali will be considered.
  • Concessions will be revised after one year based on the level of performance/achievement at CGC University, Mohali.
  • Attendance at training camps for players, both inside and outside the campus, will be monitored regularly. A minimum camp attendance of 90% is required for each player.
  • The university reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of the sports policy at any time without prior notice.

Selection Procedure for Sports Quota Admission:
  • Performance trials will be conducted before admission.
  • Original certificates are required for verification.
  • Gradation is required if the sports department has doubts about any certificate.
  • The final decision for admission will be made by the Director of Student Affairs.
  • If a student does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, they will not be able to take advantage of the policy.
  • Misbehavior or any other indiscipline may result in action being taken against the player by the committee.
  • If a student has not participated in Inter-College IKGPTU, North Zone/All India Inter-University events for any reason, all incentives and scholarship benefits provided by CGC University, Mohali will be discontinued.
  • If a player is absent from an official camp for one week without any intimation, their diet will be discontinued.
  • If a player tests positive in a doping test during any competition or trials, they will be terminated from CGC University, Mohali.
Terms and conditions for the Scholarships:

Scholarship of 10% on Tuition fee of first Sem. is applicable for the siblings of present students / Alumnus on submission of following documents:

  • University ID card and Aadhar / Any valid photo ID proof of the siblings bearing the name of the parent (Documentary proof of sibling is to be submitted).
  • Copy of the Degree Certificate issued to the sibling by CGC University, Mohali (if applicable).

The above scholarship would only be granted, if the student’s sibling is presently studying or has completed his / her studies from CGC University, Mohali & CGC Jhanjeri , Mohali .

Note: To continue the above scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 8.5 & Attendance of 85% and above every Sem, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case, to be verified the office of Dean/Director of Academics

  • University ID Card/ College ID card.
  • Copy of Provisional Certificate issued in the same year / Grade Card (all semesters)

Scholarship for Children of single Parent.

Scholarship of 20% on Tuition fee of 1st Sem is applicable for the children of single parent (whose income is less than 6 Lakhs per annum) on submission of any following documents:

  • Death Certificate of Father /Mother Valid Proof of Divorce issued by the Court of Law.
  • Students have to submit the Certificate of single parent issued by the Competent State / National Government Authority.
  • Students applying for these scholarships are required to submit a copy of their mother's ITR /Form 26AS/income proof issued by Competent Government Authority (in case of non-filing of ITR) of the last two financial years.

To continue the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.0 & 85% Attendance and above every SEM, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case. The student is also required to submit all the requisite documents as mentioned above at serial no. (Ga/Gb/Gc).

Scholarship of 10% on Tuition fee is applicable for the differently abled student on submission of following documents / condition:

  • The student has to submit the Certificate of handicap issued by the Competent Authority at State / National Government Hospital / Board (as per the guidelines issued by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India).
  • To continue the above scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.0 & 85% Attendance and above every year, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.
Terms and conditions for the Scholarships:

Scholarship for the Orphan student.

Scholarship of 20% on Tuition fee is applicable for the Orphan student on submission of following documents / condition:

  • Certificate from the Women Development & Child Welfare department confirming the orphan status.
  • An affidavit by the applicant duly notarized given on stamp paper of Rs.10/- undertaking that the applicant is an orphan/destitute.
  • To continue the above scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.0 & 85% Attendance and above every year, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.

Scholarship policy for the children/siblings/relatives/references of employees of the CGC University, Mohali, Punjab.

The Scholarship for the children/sibling/Relatives/References of the Employees of CGC University, Mohali, shall be as under:

  • 50% waiver in tuition fee over the applicable scholarship category of the student.
  • The Scholarship shall be applicable on all the programmes offered by CGC University, Mohali.
  • The Scholarship shall be applicable till the employee is serving the CGC University, MOHALI and shall be withdrawn when the employee leaves CGC University, Mohali.
  • The faculty has to serve the college until their ward completes the tenure of the program. Failing in which the concerned student has to pay the full amount of the program for the complete tenure.

Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal Ji Scholarship for Girl Students), in such case she will be eligible for Scholarship of Higher category (A) or (B) or (D) or (K) along with additional scholarship of Category (B)-S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal Father of Education, Sardar Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal Ji Scholarship for Girl Students). In such cases, the total amount of all such Scholarships cannot exceed the total Tuition Fee for the Semester and final decision of Scholarship will be done BY Committee.
  4. Scholarship Category (G-Scholarship for Children of Single Parent) and (H- Scholarship for differently abled Students) will be as per discretion of the Management based on the documents and other conditions, as applicable.
  5. The students who are eligible for the scholarship/s as per the norms specified by the University should address their application to the Registrar with relevant documents for consideration.
  6. Students completed their schooling from Open School / Part-Time will not be eligible for scholarships category (A-Merit Based Scholarship) & (K-Scholarship Policy for the Students appeared for CUET UG-2026).
  7. Scholarship awarded in subsequent years (if applicable) shall be credited in the Even Semester of programme for respective academic year.
  8. If at any stage, it is found that an applicant has concealed, suppressed, distorted any information / facts which would have rendered him / her not eligible for the admission and / or for benefit of fee / scholarship which has been awarded by the University basis initial documentation, then the admission and / or benefit of fee / scholarship will stand cancelled and all such financial support will be recovered by the University.
  9. In case of any escalation / representation / dispute / discrepancy / clarification, the decision of the Management will be final and binding.
  10. The Management reserves the right to change the Scholarship Policy as per its discretion.
Scholarship Progression:
  1. The student needs to maintain a minimum 85% attendance in every semester.
  2. The student is required to maintain the same or a higher percentage in their exams as achieved in CGCUET to remain eligible for the scholarship in the next semester. A supplementary in any semester will lead to the discontinuation of the scholarship for the following semester.
  3. The student has to maintain discipline and acceptable behaviour during the scholarship period.
  4. The student should not be involved in any illegal activity on campus or outside the campus
  5. The students who are eligible for the scholarship/s as per the norms specified by the University should address their application to the Registrar with relevant documents for consideration.
  6. A scholarship awardee student under any disciplinary action or pending disciplinary action shall result in termination and withdrawal of the award.
  7. Students need to maintain satisfactory performance in studies with no backlog. These students act as ambassadors of the college.
  8. Once you have registered for an exam, it will be valid for 15 days or till the last date to fill the exam, which means you have to take the exam in 15 days or till the last date after registration. This condition is applicable in both stages.
  9. Any scholarship awardee who discontinued the studies must repay the fee for completed semesters in complete or return the scholarship amount paid per the scholarship guidelines.
  10. The scholarship period shall be one year, renewable under satisfactory student performance.
  11. Tuition fee waiver shall be considered on a case-by-case basis for each program.

To continue the above scholarship along with other availed Scholarship, the student should maintain at least CGPA of 7.0 & 85% Attendance and above every year, without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.

Terms and conditions for the Scholarships:

NOTIFICATION CONDITIONS FOR CONTINUATION OF Ph.D. SCHOLARSHIP

A. Duration of Scholarship:

The Ph.D. Scholarship shall be applicable for a maximum period of three (03) years from the date of registration in the Ph.D. programme. Upon completion of the scholarship tenure, the prescribed Ph.D. programme fee, as notified by the University from time to time, shall become applicable to all registered scholars. However, candidates admitted under the Internal Faculty Category and eligible for a 50% fee concession shall continue to avail such concession in accordance with Clause 6 of Notification No. CGCU/26-27/324 dated 15.04.2026, subject to fulfilment of the prescribed terms and conditions.

B. Conditions for Continuation of Scholarship:

Continuation of the scholarship from year to year / Semester to semester shall be subject to satisfactory academic progress, research performance, as per the following mandatory conditions:

Course Work Requirement:

  • The scholar shall successfully complete the prescribed course work during the first semester with a minimum CGPA of 7.00

Comprehensive Examination and Conference Publication:

  • Upon successful completion of the course work, the scholar shall appear in and qualify the Comprehensive Examination within a maximum period of six (06) months from the date of completion of course work.
  • Further, in accordance with Clause 11 of the Ph.D. Degree Programme Regulations, 2025, every scholar shall publish or present at least one research paper in a Scopus-indexed International Conference during the first year of registration (July 2026 – June 2027).

3. Research Publication Requirements

As prescribed under Clause 18(a) of the Ph.D. Degree Programme Regulations, 2025:

  • a) Scholars registered in Engineering and Sciences disciplines shall publish a minimum of two (02) research papers in SCI/SCIE-indexed journals for the award of the Ph.D. degree.
  • b) Scholars registered in Management, Commerce, Law, Languages, Humanities, and allied disciplines shall publish a minimum of two (02) research papers in refereed journals indexed under SSCI categories or other equivalent recognized indexing databases for the award of the Ph.D. degree.

For continuation of scholarship, the following milestones shall be mandatory:

  • At least one (01) research paper must be published during the second year of the programme (July 2027 – June 2028).
  • At least one (01) additional research paper must be published during the third year of the programme (July 2028 – June 2029).

Failure to achieve the prescribed publication milestones may result in suspension or discontinuation of the scholarship.

4. Authorship Requirements

For any publication claimed towards scholarship continuation and/or fulfilment of Ph.D. degree requirements:

  • The Research Scholar shall be the First Author.
  • The Supervisor/Guide shall be the Corresponding Author.

Publications containing authors other than the Scholar, Supervisor, and Co-Supervisor shall ordinarily not be considered for scholarship continuation or fulfilment of degree requirements. In exceptional circumstances, prior approval of the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) and Dean Research shall be mandatory.

5. Institutional Affiliation:

All publications arising from research conducted during the Ph.D. tenure shall carry CGC University, Mohali as the sole institutional affiliation.

6. Review of Progress

The academic and research progress of the scholar shall be reviewed periodically by the Research Advisory Committee (RAC).

If the performance, progress, conduct, or research output of the scholar is found unsatisfactory, the University reserves the absolute right to withhold, suspend, discontinue, or terminate the scholarship, wholly or partially, at any stage without assigning any further reason.

7. Leave, Interruption, or Change of Status

Any leave of absence, discontinuation, change in research status, extension, interruption of studies, or any other deviation from the approved programme schedule shall require prior approval of the Competent Authority.

Failure to obtain such approval may result in immediate withdrawal of scholarship benefits.

8. Final Authority

The decision of the University, Research Advisory Committee (RAC), or any other Competent Authority regarding continuation, suspension, withdrawal, termination, or interpretation of the scholarship conditions shall be final, binding, and not subject to appeal.

Note:

The following amendments shall be applicable with immediate effect and shall form an integral part of Notification No. CGCU/26-27/324 dated 15.04.2026:

i. The fee waiver/scholarship mentioned in the aforesaid notification shall be construed as a waiver of Tuition Fee only. Accordingly, wherever the term "Academic Fee" appears in the notification, it shall be read as "Tuition Fee".

ii. From the next admission session onwards for the Ph.D. Programme, the maximum scholarship permissible shall be as follows:

a) Category-I (Performance-cum-Entrance Test Based): Maximum scholarship up to 80% of Tuition Fee.

b) All Other Eligible Categories: Maximum scholarship up to 90% of Tuition Fee.

c) 100% scholarship will not be granted under any category or scheme.

iii. The total number of candidates awarded the highest permissible scholarship under any category shall be subject to a maximum cap of 5% of the total admissions in the respective admission session.

iv. All other terms and conditions of Notification No. CGCU/26-27/324 dated 15.04.2026 shall remain unchanged and shall continue to be in force.

Terms and Conditions for Sports Scholarship

Objectives:

The sports policies aim to promote student well-being, academic integration and athletic excellence through structured participation, talent development and support system, covering mandatory attendance and incentives like, Fee waivers for high achievers, awards and financial benefits.

Eligibility Criteria:

Non-scholarship university students who secure a medal in International, National, or All India Inter-University (AIIU) competitions shall be eligible for a Sports Scholarship, subject to the level of performance and respective category.

Seat Allocation:

Scholarships will be granted only against vacant seats available in each sport and will be evaluated annually.

Validity of Performance Certificates:

Only performance certificates from the preceding one year will be considered for scholarship eligibility.

Overall, Fee Concession:

Overall fee concession under the Sports Scholarship includes exemption from any additional or miscellaneous institutional charges.

Annual Renewal:

Scholarships will be renewed annually based on the students' performance and achievements in recognized tournaments.

Revision of Concession:

The amount of concession shall be revised after one year, based on the student's level of performance and achievements. If a student does not secure a position in any International, National, or AIIU tournament in the first year, the academic fee concession will be discontinued in the second year. However, the students will still be eligible for free food and free accommodation in the university hostel as per their category.

Scholarship for Medalists with General Admission:

Students who have taken general admission and have secured a medal in North Zone, All India Inter-University (AIIU), National, or international competitions shall be eligible for Sports Scholarship benefits in the subsequent academic year, based on the level of achievement and respective category.

Attendance for Competition Participation:

Attendance shall be granted to students participating in North Zone, AIIU, National, or international competitions for the entire period of absence — from the date of departure to the date of return to the University.

Training Camp Attendance Requirement:

Attendance during training camps, conducted both within and outside the university campus, shall be recorded regularly. A minimum of 80% attendance in such camps is mandatory for all players.

Third-Year Policy:

The extent of concession (increase or decrease) shall be reviewed and adjusted at the time of renewal based on the student's performance and achievements.

Policy Modification Rights:

The University reserves the right to modify or amend the Sports Scholarship policy and its terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

Selection procedure for Sports Quota admission will be done by the Sports Committee:
  • Performance Trials will be taken before admission.

  • Gradation will be required in doubtful cases.
