Professor- Research (Management & Commerce)
CGC University, Mohali invites applications for the position of Professor (Research) in the disciplines of Management and Commerce. The role is primarily research-focused, with an emphasis on producing high-quality scholarly output, securing funded projects, and contributing to consultancy and institutional research initiatives. The selected candidate is expected to strengthen the universitys research ecosystem and enhance its national and international research visibility.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. High-Quality Research & Publications
Conduct independent and collaborative research in core and emerging areas of Management and Commerce.
Publish research papers in high-impact Scopus-indexed journals (Q1 & Q2) and other reputed international journals.
Produce SCI/SSCI/ABDC/ABS-listed journal papers, as applicable to the discipline.
Present research findings at national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops.
2. Funded Research Projects
Identify opportunities and prepare proposals for externally funded research projects from government bodies (UGC, AICTE, ICSSR, DST, SERB, ICMR, etc.) and international funding agencies.
Serve as Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) for funded projects.
3. Consultancy & Industry Engagement
Develop and execute consultancy projects in collaboration with industry, government, NGOs, and professional bodies.
Provide expert advisory services in areas related to Management and Commerce.
Contribute to revenue generation through consultancy, executive training, and applied research initiatives.
Foster strong industry-academia linkages to support research commercialization and real-world impact.
4. Research Mentorship & Collaboration
Mentor faculty members, research scholars, and postgraduate students in research methodology, publication strategies, and proposal writing.
Supervise or co-supervise Ph.D./M.Phil./PG dissertations, as per university norms.
Build interdisciplinary and inter-institutional research collaborations at national and international levels.
Qualification Criteria:
Qualifications & Experience
- Ph.D. in Management, Commerce, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
- MBA / M.Com from a recognized institution.
- 12 to 20 years of relevant academic, research, and/or industry experience, with a strong emphasis on research excellence.
- Proven track record of publications in Scopus-indexed Q1/Q2 journals and/or SCI/SSCI-listed journals.
- Demonstrated experience in handling funded research projects and consultancy assignments.
- Strong command over research methodologies, data analytics tools, and academic writing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
