Dean - Engineering

The Dean-Engineering, will lead the academic, research, and strategic initiatives of the Engineering programs at CGC University. The role requires an accomplished academic leader with the ability to drive program excellence, build industry linkages, enhance research output, and strengthen the school’s academic reputation nationally and globally.

Job Description

1. Academic Leadership

  • Provide strategic direction for curriculum planning, program development, and academic 
    innovation across UG, PG & Doctoral programs.
  • Ensure alignment with NEP 2020, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), and accreditation 
    standards (NBA/NAAC).
  • Promote interdisciplinary learning, industry-integrated coursework, and emerging 
    technology-driven pedagogy. 


2. Research & Innovation

  • Strengthen research culture and promote high-quality publications in indexed journals (Scopus / 
    SCI).
  • Set targets and drive extramural research grants, consultancy, and sponsored projects (SERB, 
    DST, AICTE, MSME, CSIR etc.).
  • Support establishment of Centers of Excellence, incubation cells, and IP / patent filing 
    ecosystem. 


3. Talent & Faculty Development

  • Lead recruitment of faculty from reputed institutions (IITs/NITs/Top NIRF institutions).
  • Mentor faculty for professional growth, research output, and leadership development.
  • Implement performance management systems and academic audits. 


4. Student Success & Engagement

  • Ensure holistic student development with focus on employability, internships, and experiential 
    learning.
  • Collaborate with Training & Placement Cell to enhance placement quality and diversity.
  • Encourage student clubs, competitions, research forums, hackathons, and innovation culture. 


5. External & Industry Partnerships

  • Develop strong collaborations with industry, research organizations, national laboratories, 
    international universities, and professional bodies (IEEE, ASME, IEI, SAE).
  • Promote joint research, faculty exchanges, internships, and global learning programs. 


6. Governance & Administration

  • Manage academic operations, budgeting, workload planning, infrastructure development, and 
    resource utilization.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with UGC, AICTE, PCI, and state guidelines.
  • Represent the School in committees, academic councils, and institutional leadership forums.
Qualification Criteria:
  • Ph.D. in Engineering (ECE/ CSE/Mechanical / Civil) from a recognized university (preferably 
    from IIT/NIT/Institute of National Importance).
  • Minimum 20–25 years of academic experience including at least 5 years in a senior leadership 
    role (Dean / HoD / Director).
  • Strong track record of research publications, funded projects, patents, or industry collaboration. 
    Proven ability to lead large teams and drive academic excellence.
