A New Age MBA Programme backed by Industry Mentors, Guiding Students Through Real Enterprise Engagement
CGC University, Mohali unveiled MBA Plus, an Industry-Integrated, Mentor-Driven Leadership Programme designed to bring sustained corporate mentorship and enterprise engagement into the heart of postgraduate management education. The programme was launched at Pride Plaza Hotel, Aerocity in the presence of senior industry leaders who will now mentor students as part of the programme’s structured leadership framework.
The unveiling ceremony was led by Hon’ble Founder Chancellor, and the Father of Education, Sardar Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal ji, alongside Worthy MD, Mr. Arsh Dhaliwal ji, Respected EVP, Dr. Sushil Prashar ji, and Respected CEO of HR Success Talk, Mr. Govind Negi ji, whose organisation serves as the industry collaboration partner for the initiative. The gathering marked the beginning of a mentor-led academic framework that seeks to bring boardroom insight, enterprise challenges, and leadership thinking directly into the MBA learning journey.
MBA Plus has been conceptualised to move beyond the conventional boundaries of classroom learning by creating a continuous interface between academia and industry. Within the programme, one industry leader mentors a cohort of 15 students each semester, ensuring close engagement and meaningful guidance. Over the two year journey, every student will be mentored by four different industry leaders, gaining diverse perspectives from across the corporate landscape.
At the centre of the programme is the Executive Mentorship Council, through which each semester introduces students to senior industry mentors who guide small cohorts through boardroom discussions, strategic simulations, and live case analysis.
Complementing this engagement is Live Enterprise Interaction, where students work on real business challenges including strategy formulation, technology transformation, market expansion, financial analysis, and operational optimisation. The programme further introduces an Applied Case and Decision Laboratory, enabling students to sharpen judgement and decision-making ability through contemporary business simulations, negotiation exercises, and strategy formulation in time sensitive scenarios.
In addition, MBA Plus incorporates long-duration internships, consulting assignments, and sponsored industry projects, ensuring that students remain closely connected with corporate realities even before graduation.
Addressing the gathering, Sardar Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal ji reflected on the evolving role of higher education in preparing young professionals for complex organisational environments. He noted that meaningful education must cultivate thoughtful leadership and informed decision making, and added that initiatives such as MBA Plus allow students to learn directly from accomplished professionals who have navigated the demands of modern enterprise.
Mr. Arsh Dhaliwal ji observed that management education today must offer students a clear view of how organisations operate and how leadership decisions are shaped. He shared that MBA Plus has been designed to create a structured dialogue between experienced industry practitioners and emerging managers, allowing students to understand business realities while still within the academic environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sushil Prashar ji stated that the programme represents a thoughtful integration of academic learning and practical insight. He added that regular engagement with industry mentors allows students to develop perspective, judgement, and professional confidence while addressing contemporary business challenges.
Also addressing the gathering, Mr. Govind Negi ji emphasised the importance of sustained industry participation in shaping capable management professionals. He noted that the collaboration with CGC University aims to create meaningful mentorship opportunities where experienced corporate leaders share practical knowledge drawn from real organisational contexts.
The presence of industry mentors at the launch reflects the programme’s emphasis on meaningful professional engagement. These leaders will now guide students through mentoring circles, enterprise discussions, and strategic problem solving exercises, creating a continuous exchange between the university and the corporate sector.
With the introduction of MBA Plus, CGC University, Mohali continues to strengthen its academic ecosystem through initiatives that combine intellectual depth with industry perspective. The programme seeks to nurture management professionals who bring thoughtful leadership, informed judgement, and a constructive contribution to the evolving economic and organisational landscape of the nation.
