At NSS, we strive to fulfill a timeless agenda of fostering personal growth for every member, while simultaneously pursuing a healthier and happier society. This we do through a concerted and comprehensive effort, which is inclusive of social welfare projects, community service initiatives, environmental conservation efforts, and more.
The NSS of CGC University, Mohali, has launched a host of unique attempts to foster community wellness in various ways. One such monumental effort came when the volunteers at our club came together to relay a unified message for cleanliness. Building upon India’s core Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the NSS members conducted a cleaning drive to reinforce its commitment to eradicate the waste management problem in our country.
One Monumental Moment in the Pursuit of a Healthier India
On World Heart Day, National Service Scheme (NSS), in close collaboration with CGC University, Mohali, National Cadet Corps (NCC), and the Red Ribbon Club, conducted a landmark Blood Donation Camp. One of the many highlights of this event was the presence of Chandigarh’s prestigious PGI Hospital. Rising up to the expectations, the event emerged as an incredibly successful endeavor, with a total of 200 individuals selflessly volunteering to donate their blood.
The event marked an important piece of impact on the surrounding community, but at the same time, it would also become a big moment in the folklore of NSS and CGC University.
NSS Plantation Drive – A Collaborative PALAY To Greenify the Planet
NSS of CGC University, Mohali, has also made some enormous efforts to preach sustainability at scale. A representation of the club’s various environmental drives is rooted in its collaboration with the local administration of Machli Village to conduct a significant plantation activity. With this collaboration, and many similar initiatives, NSS has enabled students to develop a more mindful and well-informed perspective on the environment.
Steadfastly focused on encouraging sustainable practices, NSS and CGC University, Mohali, have also joined forces, time and time again, to facilitate academic development among students in regards to our ecosystem. This involves educating them on the nuances of green technology, as well as mitigating the current and future environmental risks.

Drug Abuse Day
CGC University, Mohali observed the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with a profound event organized by NSS and NCC volunteers.
Swach Bharat Abhiyan
CGC University, Mohali paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary by organizing a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in collaboration with NSS and NCC volunteers. The day began with a pledge-taking ceremony, where students and volunteers reiterated their commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.
Old Age Home Visit
CGC University, Mohali extended heartfelt respect to the elderly by organizing a visit to a local Old Age Home in collaboration with NSS and NCC volunteers. Students and volunteers spent meaningful time with the residents, engaging in conversations, cultural activities, and sharing moments of joy.
Gaushala Visit & Cow Feeding Drive
CGC University, Mohali paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi's values of compassion and service by organizing a Gaushala visit and cow feeding drive in collaboration with NSS and NCC volunteers.
