Dr. Kiran Bedi Launches Kiran Bedi Leadership Learnings (KBLL) at Sahityam 2026, CGC University, Mohali

CGC University, Mohali, marked a defining milestone in its pursuit of leadership-driven education with the formal launch of the Kiran Bedi Leadership Learnings (KBLL) program by Dr. Kiran Bedi, IPS (Retd.), India’s first woman IPS officer and former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, during Sahityam 2026, the University’s official literature festival.

Anchored in the philosophy of Fearless Governance, KBLL has been envisioned as a transformative leadership framework designed to cultivate courage, ethical decision-making, and public-spirited innovation among students. In her inaugural leadership address, Dr. Bedi underscored the urgent need for principled, action-oriented leadership in contemporary India. She encouraged students to develop resilience, clarity of purpose, and a service-driven mindset, emphasising that fearless governance begins with personal discipline and social responsibility.

As part of the KBLL launch, CGC University unveiled a flagship initiative, the KBLL Fearless Leadership & Entrepreneurship Challenge, inspired by the principles of Fearless Governance. The challenge comprises two distinctive tracks: a Governance Innovation Track, where students conceptualise practical solutions for institutional, campus, or startup-level reforms, and a Leadership-in-Action Simulation, a high-intensity exercise that tests participants’ decision-making abilities in complex, time-bound scenarios mirroring real-world leadership challenges.

Outstanding teams demonstrating exceptional vision, courage, and execution will be recognised with KBLL Certificates of Merit, awarded strictly on the basis of leadership depth and measurable outcomes. The initiative aims to foster a culture of solution-oriented thinking and experiential learning, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world leadership practice.

Looking beyond Sahityam 2026, the University also outlined its vision of evolving KBLL into a structured, continuing leadership learning module and certificate course, subject to Dr. Bedi’s guidance and collaboration. This long-term roadmap seeks to create sustained engagement, equipping students with practical leadership competencies capable of generating tangible societal impact.

The launch of KBLL at Sahityam 2026 reflects CGC University, Mohali’s broader commitment to nurturing future-ready leaders who combine intellectual rigor with ethical courage. By integrating the ideals of Fearless Governance into its academic ecosystem, the University has taken a significant step toward building a generation of young leaders prepared to navigate complexity, serve society, and contribute meaningfully to India’s evolving national vision.
