Purpose and Scope

  • To prevent, prohibit, and eliminate the menace of ragging in all academic, residential, and extracurricular spaces of the University
  • To provide a safe and inclusive environment that fosters respect, equality, and holistic development of students
  • To act promptly on any complaint or occurrence of ragging and enforce disciplinary measures in line with AICTE/UGC regulations

Roles and responsibilities of the committee:

  • Ensure strict compliance with UGC & AICTE Regulations, 2009 and Supreme Court directives on prevention of ragging
  • Monitor and oversee measures for awareness, prevention, and deterrence of ragging on campus and hostels
  • Provide mechanisms for students to report ragging confidentially and without fear of retaliation
  • Initiate disciplinary or legal action against perpetrators of ragging as per university and regulatory norms
  • Promote awareness campaigns, orientation sessions, and affidavits to sensitize students and parents against ragging
