About IQAC – CGC University, Mohali

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of CGC University has been established as a strategic initiative to embed a culture of continuous quality enhancement and institutional excellence. Constituted in alignment with the guidelines of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, the IQAC serves as a dynamic mechanism for planning, implementing, and monitoring quality benchmarks across academic and administrative domains.

The cell actively drives systematic evaluation, periodic reviews, and the adoption of best practices to ensure consistent improvement in teaching–learning, research, innovation, and governance. By fostering stakeholder participation and promoting outcome-based and industry-relevant approaches, the IQAC at CGC University plays a pivotal role in strengthening institutional performance and achieving sustained excellence.

Objectives

To develop a systematic and proactive framework that ensures continuous and consistent improvement in the academic and administrative performance of CGC University. Further, to promote quality enhancement by embedding a strong culture of excellence and institutionalizing best practices across all areas of functioning.

IQAC shall develop and implement dynamic and effective mechanisms and procedures to:

  • Enhance the relevance and quality of academic and research programmes in line with industry and global standards.
  • Promote inclusive and equitable access to affordable education for diverse sections of society.

Functions

The IQAC at CGC University performs the following key functions:

  • Establishing and implementing quality benchmarks for academic and administrative excellence.
  • Defining and monitoring parameters for various institutional activities.
  • Promoting a learner-centric environment supported by modern knowledge and technology-driven teaching–learning practices.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and utilizing feedback from stakeholders to improve quality processes.
  • Sharing information on quality initiatives and parameters with all stakeholders.
  • Organizing workshops, seminars, and quality-focused programs to promote a culture of excellence.
  • Documenting activities and best practices that contribute to continuous quality improvement.
  • Acting as a central coordinating body for all quality-related initiatives and dissemination of best practices.
  • Developing and maintaining institutional databases through MIS for effective quality management.
  • Conducting regular academic and administrative audits along with follow-up actions.
  • Preparing and submitting the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per National Assessment and Accreditation Council guidelines.
