Serving Humanity Together: Blood Donation Drive at CGC University, Mohali

Acts of humanity are what bind societies together. Among them, blood donation stands out as one of the purest ways to touch lives — an act where a few moments of kindness can gift someone an entire lifetime. Carrying forward this spirit, CGC University, Mohali, in collaboration with the Great Nav Bharat Mission Foundation and the Punjab Kesari Group, organized a large-scale Blood Donation Camp on its campus, drawing an overwhelming response and turning the day into a celebration of service.

The event became truly special with the gracious presence of Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria Ji, whose words inspired everyone present to see blood donation not as a duty, but as a profound responsibility towards humanity. His encouragement set the tone for the gathering, reinforcing the value of selflessness in today’s world.

Also present was Mr. Karan Gilhotra, Limca Book Record Holder for being the Youngest Sarpanch, Co-Chairman of PHD Chamber (Punjab), and Founder of Plaksha University, Mohali. His journey as a young leader and contributor to society resonated with the purpose of the camp, reminding everyone that leadership is not only about achievement but also about service to others.

The initiative was further enriched by the participation of Mr. Abhijay Chopra, Director of Punjab Kesari Group, who reflected on the Group’s long-standing tradition of social contribution. He emphasized the vital role media plays in mobilizing communities for collective good. Mr. Rajan Chopra, from PHD Chamber, also joined the occasion, extending appreciation to the organizers and applauding the donors for their life-saving contributions.

From CGC University, Mr. Sushil Parashar was present as well, extending his appreciation to the donors and applauding the collective effort that made the camp a success.

The camp was carried out with meticulous planning and medical supervision, ensuring safety, efficiency, and comfort for all donors. From seamless registration to post-donation care, every step reflected the professionalism and compassion of the organizing teams. The strong turnout of donors stood as testimony to the impact such initiatives can create when institutions, NGOs, and media work hand in hand.

Great Nav Bharat Mission Foundation, with its steady commitment to social welfare, played an instrumental role in mobilizing support and spreading awareness, while the Punjab Kesari Group amplified the cause through its credibility and outreach. Anchored by CGC University, Mohali, the partnership demonstrated how shared purpose can turn into lasting impact.

The day concluded with heartfelt gratitude extended to every donor, dignitary, and volunteer. What remained most powerful were not just the numbers of blood units collected, but the emotions of solidarity, compassion, and humanity that filled the air.

For CGC University, Mohali, this was not simply an event but a reflection of its ethos — nurturing individuals who believe that education is incomplete without empathy and responsibility. The Blood Donation Camp stood as a tribute to the spirit of giving, reminding all that the greatest strength of humanity lies in its ability to care for one another.
