
CGC University, Mohali hosted the grand finale of Hackathon Escape Da Vinci 2026 (EDV26), bringing an inspiring close to one of the institution’s most energetic and innovation-driven events. The campus buzzed with creativity and competitive enthusiasm as 330 participants across 82 teams showcased their technological solutions, prototypes, and fresh ideas.
The event was enriched by the presence of distinguished chief guests Sh. Suresh Goyal, President of EBG Group of Companies, and Mr. Nitesh Agarwal, CEO of BioStack and founder of Uncle Fab and Tamboo Baba. Their industry insights and motivational messages encouraged students to think boldly, innovate fearlessly, and continue exploring new frontiers in technology and entrepreneurship.
A strong jury panel added expert depth to the evaluations. The panel included Mr. Harish Kumar, UX/UI Design Expert; Mr. Manmeet Singh, Cybersecurity Leader with over 24 years of experience; Mr. Mitanshu Mishra, Product Designer; and Mr. Aditya Sharma, Founder of Humara Pandit. Their assessment criteria emphasized creativity, functionality, usability, scalability, and real-world applicability, ensuring a fair and comprehensive judgment process.
The results reflected exceptional efforts from all participants. The first prize of ₹75,000 was won by Team Dapper Squid from CGC University, Mohali. The second prize of ₹35,000 went to Glass Codus from Chandigarh University, and the third prize of ₹20,000 was awarded to 3/4 Bit, also from Chandigarh University. Special prizes of ₹10,000 each were awarded to Team Techno and Visionary Coders from Gulzar Group of Institutes, and The NPC from Graphic Era University. Meanwhile, Coding Hunters and Andaze Fun from Panjab University, along with Neural Nexus from Chennai Institute of Technology, received ₹5,000 each for their impressive projects.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Dr. Sajjan Singh, Principal CCE, and Dr. Anamol Gautam, HOD Applied Sciences, CCE. Both dignitaries applauded the participants for their dedication, problem-solving abilities, and willingness to think beyond conventional boundaries. Tokens of appreciation were also presented to all participants and mentors, acknowledging their spirit of collaboration and hard work.
Escape Da Vinci 2026 emerged not just as a hackathon but as a dynamic learning ecosystem—one that inspired students to ideate, innovate, and collaborate with purpose.
The event reflected CGC University, Mohali’s broader vision of fostering a culture of research, creativity, and technological advancement. With the support and guidance of the university management, EDV26 successfully encouraged students to step into the role of future innovators and solution-builders.
