National Science Day, organized by the Department of Applied Sciences at the School of Engineering and Technology was celebrated with great excitement and meaningful engagement at CGC University, Mohali, as the campus came together to honour the legacy of Sir C.V. Raman and reflect on the impact of scientific discovery. This year’s theme, Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat, gave the celebration a purposeful direction, encouraging students to recognize the growing presence and influence of women in shaping India’s scientific future.
The university buzzed with activity throughout the day. Students engaged in hands-on learning, idea-sharing, and creative exploration as part of the vibrant project display, where they showcased working models, prototypes, and research-based presentations. These efforts not only highlighted their technical understanding but also boosted their confidence in applying science to real-life challenges.
A remarkable highlight of the celebration was TechSci Nova 2026, where more than 100 innovative projects, including software solutions, hardware models, and functional prototypes, were showcased by students. TalentX SkillNova, Exhibit-SHOW 2026, Syntax Storm, AI vs AI, and QuizWhiz Fest helped students test their abilities in different domains of science and technology. The NextGen Podcast 2.0 and Technical Poster Making competition—both centred around women in science, sparked thoughtful discussions and encouraged participants to look at scientific growth through a more inclusive lens. Each event gave students a space to explore new ideas, express their perspectives, and learn collaboratively.
The success of National Science Day also reflected the strong support and forward-looking vision of the university’s management. Their consistent emphasis on nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, and practical learning played a major role in making the day meaningful for students. With their encouragement, the event went beyond traditional celebrations and became an opportunity for students to see themselves as future innovators, contributors, and problem-solvers.
What truly stood out was the enthusiasm with which students participated. Their eagerness to experiment, question, and discover brought life to every corner of the campus. For many, the day served as a reminder of why science matters, not just as a subject, but as a way of thinking and understanding the world.
National Science Day 2026 at CGC University, Mohali was ultimately a celebration of curiosity, creativity, and collective aspiration. It reaffirmed the belief that the next generation of scientists, engineers, and thinkers is already taking shape, ready to contribute to the vision of a Viksit Bharat with passion, purpose, and imagination.
