CGC University Hosts First National Law Fest Lex Fiesta 2026

The School of Legal Studies at CGC University, Mohali successfully organized its first-ever National Law Fest—Lex Fiesta 2026, marking a significant addition to the region’s academic calendar. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director, HIRD and Member, Hindi Salahkaar Samiti, Ministry of Railways and Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.

Designed as a comprehensive platform integrating legal acumen with cultural and literary expression, the fest aimed to strengthen advocacy skills, constitutional understanding, analytical reasoning, and creative communication among budding legal professionals. A prize pool of ₹51,000 added competitive vigour to the two-day celebration.

Organised under the guidance of Dr. JP Yadav, Dean, School of Legal Studies, Lex Fiesta drew an impressive 194 teams, including 83 teams from external institutions, highlighting its national reach in its inaugural edition. Students participated in a series of events such as Client Counselling, Maxim Bee, Constitution Quiz, JAM, Folk Dance, and Skit competitions.

In the Client Counselling Competition, Janvi Pahwa and Samriti Moun (Panjab University Regional Centre) secured first place, followed by Mohd Arif and Divanshi (UILS, Panjab University). CGC University teams took third and fourth positions. In the Maxim Bee Competition, Riya Kashyap (CGC University) emerged as the winner, while Himanshi (Amity University Mohali) stood second. The Constitution Quiz was won by Dilpreet Singh (GNDU), followed by Navjot Kaur (CGC University). In the JAM Competition, Nazeem Kaur (Baba Farid Law College) took the top spot, with Vanshika Goyal (Amity University Mohali) in second place.
In cultural events, SVIET won the Folk Dance Competition, while Modi College secured first place in the Skit Competition.

The management of CGC University, Mohali, emphasized that Lex Fiesta aligns with the institution’s commitment to holistic legal education, offering students opportunities beyond traditional classroom learning. By combining courtroom skills with creativity and culture, the fest strengthened students’ confidence, communication abilities, and competitive spirit.

With vibrant participation, strong institutional support, and enthusiastic student engagement, Lex Fiesta 2026 concluded on a high note, establishing itself as a promising national platform for legal and cultural excellence.
