
CGC University, Mohali, successfully hosted the Indo-Australia Model Youth Parliament 2026 in collaboration with AUSMUN, bringing together some of the brightest young minds for a day defined by intellectual rigour, articulate discourse, and visionary thinking.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Pawan Solanki, CEO of AUSMUN, whose insights and encouragement added immense depth and inspiration to the proceedings. His address underscored the importance of youth engagement in global policymaking and leadership.
The conference stood as a remarkable platform for intellectual engagement, fostering meaningful dialogue, critical analysis, and leadership development among participants. The enthusiasm, discipline, and depth of discourse demonstrated by the delegates truly exemplified the spirit of diplomacy and global citizenship.
Structured across five dynamic committees, Lok Sabha with 31 delegates, AISM with 17 delegates, AIPPC with 15 delegates, UNHRC with 30 delegates, and the International Press with 11 delegates, the conference witnessed exceptional participation and commitment. Each committee functioned with remarkable dedication, contributing significantly to the overall success of the event.
Throughout the sessions, delegates actively engaged in insightful deliberations, presenting well-researched perspectives while demonstrating commendable articulation and negotiation skills. The level of participation reflected not only academic preparedness but also a deep commitment to understanding contemporary global issues. The sessions were marked by high-energy debates, compelling arguments, and real-time policy simulations that authentically mirrored parliamentary functioning.
The event witnessed participation from a diverse range of esteemed institutions, including Chandigarh University, NMIMS Chandigarh, Amity University, Kumaun University, DAV College, The Bharat School, Mount Litera Zee School, and Delhi Public School, Patiala, adding both diversity and depth to the deliberations.
A significant highlight of the conference was the gracious presence of distinguished representatives from leading Australian universities, including Deakin University, The University of Western Australia, La Trobe University, and Flinders University. Their engagement brought invaluable global perspectives and further enriched the academic experience for all participants.
The conference also celebrated excellence across committees through a series of recognitions. In the AISM committee, Aprajita from NMIMS Chandigarh, representing Priyanka Chopra, was awarded Best Delegate, while Sania Verma from NMIMS Chandigarh, representing Kareena Kapoor Khan, received High Commendation. Anurag from CCE, CGC University, representing Anupam Mittal, secured Special Mention, followed by Leon Laith from CSB, CGC University, representing Sandeep Maheshwari, and Mthokozisi from CGC University, Mohali, representing Eric Bana, who received Verbal Mentions.
In the Lok Sabha, Himaksh Chaudhary from CGC University, Mohali, was awarded Best Parliamentarian for representing Rajnath Singh, while Kanishk Khullar from Chandigarh University, representing Anurag Thakur, received High Commendation. Anmol Rattan from DPS Patiala, representing Asaduddin Owaisi, was awarded Special Mention.
In the UNHRC committee, Srijan Sharma from Hindu College, representing Kenya, secured Best Delegate, while Reet Kamal from CGC University, Mohali, representing Australia, received High Commendation. Rohini from CLC, CGC University, Mohali, representing Canada, was awarded Special Mention.
In the AIPPC committee, Arshdeep Gill from Amity University, Mohali, representing Tony Burke, was declared Best Delegate, while Dhani Malhotra from The Bharat School, representing Dharmendra Pradhan, received High Commendation.
The International Press category also witnessed remarkable talent, where Aryan Jamwal from CGC Landran was awarded Best Journalist, while Jasleen Kaur from CGC University received a Verbal Mention. In the press photography segment, Saksham from CGC University, Mohali, was recognized as Best Photographer, with Khushjeet from CGC Landran receiving a Verbal Mention.
From intense deliberations to thought-provoking perspectives, the event resonated with passion, awareness, and intellectual maturity. Each participant not only contributed meaningfully but also embodied the essence of responsible and informed youth leadership.
